I spent a greater part of today's morning devotion in admiration of Momma's glow. Her skin shining bright like the rays of the morning sun.
A 54-year-old woman glistening like one in her prime.
You are so beautiful, I said almost loudly at least not to the hearing of Papi who would aim a Rosary at me for being such a distraction during prayers!
Thank goodness!
The thing is, my father is a very ecclesiastical man. My entire family is but I guess Papi is extreme with it and will take no movements, unnecessary sounds or distraction in those long hours of devotions.
So I'm glad he didn't hear me.
We began a conversation after prayers, Momma and I.
I took a notepad! I didn't want to miss anything at all but the lecture was simply this; drink lots of water! Constantly eat fruits!
I was going to scream abeeeegi! Na me you wan scam? Lol but then I realized she was right. She has all manner of growing plants in the back of every house we've ever lived in. She waters them, uproots weeds and plants more. She calls this section of the house her safe haven.
All my life growing up, I've watched her drank soaked aloe vera water almost on a regular, she said it is a cleanser! I've seen her spice up meat or stew with ginger, garlic, onions and turmeric with plenty gist on the health benefits of those.
I've watched her use avocados, cucumbers, honey and tomatoes as facials and exfoliators. She can tell what plant is for what and how it'd help you get rid of that stubborn cold, cough or acne.
Nature is good she says often and plants when taken in the right proportions can help boost your immunity and foster glow.
I'm starting up therapy on fruits quickly, I have to glow too!
Y'all sit and await results, or better still Join me!!
